Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office
Street: 130 South Queen Street, Kinston, NC 28502
Mail: P.O. Box 3289, Kinston, NC 28502
Main: 252-559-6100
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the county page
Use the LCSO phone directory for current routing. It lists reports and information, detention, investigations, emergency 911, and non-emergency communications at 252-559-6118. The detention center and Records Division are the right starting points for county custody, arrest reports, and a question about whether a booking photo is maintained and releasable.
The incident-report form says electronic incident reports have no fee, are emailed after identity verification, and normally take 1 to 3 business days. The media policy separately states that a paper arrest-report copy is $2 through Records on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Confirm the record type and route.
Where to Ask for Each Record
Use these destinations for the question that matches the record.
- For a county booking or sheriff arrest report, use the LCSO Records Division and incident form.
- For a Kinston arrest report, contact KPD Records, 205 E King Street, Kinston, NC 28501, 252-939-3160. Its form states 3 to 5 business days and no specific posted fee.
- For Pink Hill police information, use the town-listed department at 305 S Central Avenue, 252-568-4102, and confirm the listing first.
- For La Grange policing, use the LCSO division contact, 252-566-3400, because the town contracts with the sheriff.
- For a court case or disposition, use North Carolina eCourts and the Lenoir County Clerk, listed at 252-520-5300.
- For state prison, probation, or parole records, use the NC DAC offender search or DAC public-records route.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE locator.
What to Include in a Request
Give the custodian a full name, approximate arrest or incident date, place, arresting agency, and case number when known. LCSO accepts “UNKNOWN” for the case number. State whether you want an incident report, arrest report, booking record, or booking photograph. A photo request should be separate because the form does not guarantee that one exists or can be released. Ask for electronic delivery when available and request an explanation for any redaction.
